Colors of memory – how do the senses affect the effectiveness of learning and remembering?

The world we experience with all our senses provides us with stimuli that influence the way we remember information. As multisensory creatures, we explore our surroundings not only through sight, but also through hearing, touch, smell and taste.

Statistics show that as much as 83% of information reaches us through sight, while we only absorb 11% through hearing. The remaining 6% are stimuli related to smell, touch and taste. This layout clearly highlights the key role that images play in the process of remembering – their form, colours and composition have a real impact on the effectiveness of communication and remembering the content.

Dale's Cone: How do we learn most effectively?

Dale's Cone Model clearly shows that the form in which we absorb information has a huge impact on how we remember it. In the case of passive reception – when we only read, listen or watch – our efficiency in remembering is 10%, 20%, 30%, respectively, and when seeing and hearing at the same time it reaches 50%.

A significant increase occurs when we are actively engaged: conversations and discussions allow us to remember as much as 70% of information, and independent actions and experiences – up to 90%. The conclusion? We learn most effectively when we participate in the process ourselves. Therefore, tools such as 3D holograms, which engage vision and stimulate interaction, can really enhance the effectiveness of learning.

The Psychology of Color: How Do Colors Affect Memory?

Colors have a real impact on our brain and emotions:

Color Influence
🟡 Yellow, orange They stimulate the brain, aid memory, and cure sadness.
🔴 Red It adds energy, optimism, and strengthens self-confidence.
🔵 Blue It calms, suppresses appetite, and promotes concentration.
🟣 Purple Regulates hormones, relaxes the nervous system.
🟢 Green It facilitates concentration and gives a sense of peace.
⚫ Black In the right proportions – it calms and soothes.
⚪ White It promotes concentration and improves well-being.

Taking notes using your favorite colors makes it easier to create an emotional connection with the content, which translates into better memorization effects.

Studies confirm: color increases learning effectiveness

In 2012, STABILO International GmbH conducted research into the influence of colours on text memorisation – and the results leave no doubt. Those learning from the uniform, colourless material remembered an average of 66% of information. Meanwhile, the group whose texts were highlighted in color achieved a score of 82%.

This is a 16 percent difference resulting solely from the use of color as a memory aid – proof that appropriate content visualization really increases learning effectiveness.

Ledholo Technology: The Future of Multisensory Learning

Ledholo is a solution that combines the power of image, color and sound in the form of modern 3D holograms, offering a completely new dimension of knowledge acquisition. Thanks to this, it is possible to create interactive, modern lessons. museum exhibitions or engaging educational stands – experiences that will remain in the memory for a long time.

Imagine hologram of the character historical, which not only speaks, but also moves, reacts and looks alive – engaging the recipient at the level of sight, hearing and emotions. It is precisely such multi-sensory experiences that most effectively build lasting memories and a strong emotional connection with the content conveyed.

Color and image are the key to memory

Understanding how the senses – especially sight – influence memory allows you to better create educational and marketing content. With Ledholo holograms you can:

  • increase effectiveness of the message,
  • stand out from the competition,
  • create engaging and memorable experiences.

Color + Image + Interaction = Memorization + Emotion + Effects
