CHALLENGE
The Museum of Early Commerce in Świdnica, located in the historic Świdnica City Hall building, has for years been promoting the history of the city, its residents, and the trades that have shaped the local economy and social life over the centuries. One of the important elements of this history is pharmacy—a profession that has played a key role in the functioning of the city and the health of its residents for centuries.
Contemporary cultural institutions are increasingly seeking new ways to present history that will capture visitors’ interest and make exhibitions more engaging. It is particularly important to reach younger audiences, who expect interactive ways to learn about the past and modern educational experiences.
The challenge was to create a solution that would tell the story of pharmacy in Świdnica in an engaging, accessible, and memorable way, while maintaining a high level of factual accuracy in the presented content.
SOLUTION
To bring the historical narrative to life, the LEDHOLO MatrixX 1.3NC.72 holographic display and LEDHOLO’s proprietary Holographic Human technology were used.
For the exhibition, the LEDHOLO HoloArt Studio team created a holographic figure of a former pharmacist who serves as a guide through the history of pharmacy in Świdnica. The digital character welcomes visitors and explains, in an accessible way, the most important events related to the development of pharmacies in the city.
The narrative covers, among other things, the history of one of the oldest pharmacies in Poland, the history of the municipal pharmacy monopoly, the operations of the municipal and court pharmacies, as well as the role of pharmacists in the life of Świdnica in days gone by. Thanks to realistically rendered facial expressions, gestures, and manner of communication, visitors feel as though they are meeting a figure from the past face-to-face.
The combination of holography, 3D animation, and modern digital technologies has made it possible to create a unique form of historical presentation that effectively combines educational value with an engaging presentation style.
RESULT
The holographic pharmacist quickly became one of the most distinctive elements of the museum exhibit. Visitors stop at the installation with great interest, listening to stories about the history of Świdnica’s pharmacies and learning interesting facts about traditional methods of treatment and the work of a pharmacist.
The modern presentation format has significantly enhanced the exhibition’s appeal and more effectively engaged visitors in learning about the city’s history. This approach has been particularly well-received by younger visitors, for whom the hologram represents a natural blend of education and modern technology.
The installation fits perfectly into the museum’s strategy of combining historical heritage with innovative methods of communication. Thanks to the use of LEDHOLO technology, history is no longer just a story presented on display panels or in showcases—it has become a vivid experience that engages the emotions and stimulates the imagination.
This project for the Museum of Historic Trade in Świdnica demonstrates that holograms can effectively help cultural institutions promote history and education. Bringing characters associated with historical trades to life helps forge a stronger connection between visitors and the heritage on display, making the museum an even more inspiring and modern place.
